How to Completely Reset a Factorio Server

Resetting your Factorio server allows you to start fresh, deleting all current world data and configurations. This guide outlines the steps to completely reset your server using Beacon Hosting's platform.

Step 1: Access Your Server Control Panel

Log in to your Beacon Hosting control panel and navigate to your Factorio server from the services list. You can find your services at www.beaconhosting.org/billing/store and select your server from www.beaconhosting.org/servers.

Step 2: Stop the Server

Before making any changes, stop your Factorio server using the control panel. This prevents file corruption or conflicts while resetting.

Step 3: Connect via FTP

Use an FTP client to connect to your server files. Your FTP credentials are available in the control panel. Once connected, navigate to the 'saves' folder, which contains your world data and configuration files.

Step 4: Delete Save Files

Within the 'saves' directory, delete all save files to remove the existing world. This action clears all progress and resets the world to default.

Step 5: Reset Server Configurations (Optional)

If you want to reset custom server configurations, locate and delete or edit configuration files in the FTP root directory as needed.

Step 6: Start the Server

Return to your Beacon Hosting control panel and start your Factorio server. The server will generate a new world with default settings.
